Lyna El-Khoury Rumbarger is the founder of EDUCARDIUM; an international cardiovascular education provider and the former Chair of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) where she taught and managed the program for 9 years.
Lyna holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology/Chemistry from the Lebanese American University (LAU) and a graduate certificate in Cardiac Sonography from the Institute of Allied Medical Professions at Columbia University Medical Center in New York. She has been a cardiac sonographer and mentor for over 30 years. She trained at Columbia University Medical Center where she held clinical and research positions for 20 years and co-authored many publications relating to 3D Echocardiography and Diastolic Heart Failure. She simultaneously taught at the New York University Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program for 14 years.
Lyna previously served on the Society for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (SDMS) Conference Management Committee and is currently a Congenital Heart Disease Subject Matter Expert for Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) and a member of the RCCS exam committee. Lyna is also a Fellow of the American Society of Echocardiography (FASE) involved in cardiovascular educator activities.
She is an international speaker and a credentialed Advanced Cardiac Sonographer (ACS), Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) and Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS).
