PROF - ATTILA KARDOS

Professor Attila Kardos is a highly accomplished consultant cardiologist based in the UK. He graduated with distinction from Albert Szent-Györgyi Medical School in Hungary in 1988. His extensive training includes cardiology specialization in Oxford and research fellowships in Germany and Oxford.

He holds the following qualifications:

  • MD: Doctor of Medicine
  • PhD: Doctor of Philosophy
  • FRCP: Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (London)
  • FESC: Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology

Currently, Professor Kardos holds several significant positions:

  • Consultant Cardiologist at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
  • Honorary Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Buckingham.
  • Clinical Lead in Multimodality Cardiovascular Imaging at Milton Keynes University Hospital.
  • Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, Radcliffe Department of Medicine, University of Oxford.
  • Honorary Consultant Cardiologist at Oxford University Hospital NHS Trust.
  • Vice-Chair of Research and Development at Milton Keynes University Hospital.

Professor Kardos has played a leading role in developing cardiology services at Milton Keynes University Hospital, including cardiac CT angiography, advanced echocardiography, cath lab services, and pacemaker implantation. He is actively involved in research as a lead researcher and principal investigator in numerous clinical trials. He also supervises MSc and PhD students.

He is a fellow of multiple prestigious medical societies, including the Royal College of Physicians and the European Society of Cardiology, and a member of over 10 national and international societies. He is a reviewer for several high-impact journals and has authored numerous peer-reviewed papers and book chapters.

His research interests include multimodality cardiovascular imaging, valvular heart disease, heart failure, and exercise physiology.
